The task facing the concrete pump design department was to develop an efficient method for creating 3D models to address complex requirements. Given the wide variety of pump configurations, a flexible model was needed, particularly for space and installation analyses. A central data model that combines all available components replaced the time-consuming search in the SAP system and significantly increased efficiency.
To manage the assemblies, the team chose the Siemens Teamcenter Product Configurator. This tool enables structured handling of components and variants. One challenge was the precise positioning of the components. The goal was to minimize the effort required for constraints while avoiding errors.
Using the Teamcenter Product Configurator not only improved clarity but also significantly reduced the effort required for modeling and configuring concrete pumps. Assemblies can be efficiently configured by selecting the desired components. These are then automatically placed in the correct positions via assembly constraints, which significantly reduces the effort required for manual positioning and minimizes the risk of errors. This speeds up the entire process and ensures greater precision in the configuration of assemblies.
