Schmitz Cargobull is Europe's leading manufacturer of truck trailers and semi-trailers, founded in Germany in 1892. The company produces high-quality trailers for refrigerated transport, dry freight and container transport. It is characterized by innovative technologies such as telematics systems and sustainable solutions. With over 6,000 employees, Schmitz Cargobull is active in more than 40 countries worldwide.
Our collaboration with Schmitz Cargobull kicked off in April 2018 when we joined the ONE R&D and ONE PLM project. Since then, we have continued to develop together and have been able to implement numerous important milestones from 2020 as part of EA CAxPLM (Enterprise Applications) under the leadership of Klaus Schulze Ameling.
Our core tasks in the ONE R&D and ONE PLM project included the implementation of an efficient document management system and standard parts management in the Reuse Library. We also successfully implemented the project and business requirements in the Teamcenter environment, which went live with TC11 and NX12 in November 2018.
Another significant step forward was the move of the engineering environment to the Microsoft Azure Cloud in March 2020, where we took over the architecture and installation of the new cloud environments as well as the migration of the database from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server. The successful go-live with TC11 and MS SQL took place in June 2020. We then implemented the migrations to TC12 and TC14. We are currently working on the migration to TC2406.
In addition to these large projects, we continuously implement ongoing business change requests in the corresponding Teamcenter releases in order to meet the dynamic requirements.
Thanks to our extensive expertise and experience in implementing complex PLM solutions, we can offer Schmitz Cargobull customized and future-proof systems that enable seamless integration of document management, standard parts management and business requirements. This allows us to achieve greater flexibility and scalability, so that Schmitz Cargobull is optimally positioned to respond efficiently to changing market conditions and to optimize its development processes in the long term.
