Update 2606 for Siemens Designcenter NX introduces a whole range of new features. We’ve picked out three of them that we find particularly useful in our day-to-day work: the new management of applications and add-ons, the redesigned display of relationships, and clearer command naming. This selection is by no means exhaustive – these are simply our personal favorites from the update.
1. Re-activating applications and add-ons
With Update 2606, Siemens Designcenter NX offers a new way for users to switch between different applications and add-ons. Activation is more intuitive and faster than before, so you’ll spend less time navigating between modules in your day-to-day work and have more time for the actual design work.
Especially in projects that frequently involve switching between different departments and tools, this simplification makes a noticeable difference in day-to-day operations.
2. Revised display and creation of relationships
A key component of the update is the redesign of how relationships are displayed and created in Siemens Designcenter NX. Relationships between parts and assemblies can now be displayed more clearly and created more easily.
For design engineers who work with complex assembly structures, this means greater transparency regarding existing dependencies and less effort required to maintain and verify relationships within the model.
3. Renaming: “Display Persistent Relations” is changed to “Display Relations”
There have also been some changes to the command names: The command previously known as “Display Persistent Relations” is now called “Display Relations.” The function itself remains unchanged – but the new, shorter name provides greater clarity in the command menu and makes it easier for new users, in particular, to get started.
