In this tip and trick on the “Optimization Volume” function, we present the procedure in NX for optimizing an object in order to adapt it to a specified target volume.
Various optimization algorithms such as “Pattern Search” or “Particle Swarm Optimization” are available for this purpose. These algorithms adjust the geometry step by step until the volume reaches the desired values. During the optimization process, an Excel spreadsheet is created that summarizes all results and parameters in order to clearly display the progress and final results.
